Typically, I work with the speaker or his or her designee regarding the project scope, overall messaging, tone, and other details.
The process also can include interviews with subject matter expert(s), fact-checking, confirmation of the event's logistical arrangements, and/or any other related needs.
The process typically involves an outline that the client approves before the draft is written, and up to three sets of revisions as needed.
I also can polish an existing draft.
PERSONAL STATEMENTS
I can help you draft personal statements and essays for jobs, scholarships, awards, and promotions through the following services:
If you have a draft, I offer suggestions for improving the structure, tone, emotional connection, storytelling, and other critical elements. If you don't have a draft, I can provide coaching that leads to a draft.
After you make any changes, I carefully review it all one final time. The process typically takes three to five days from start to finish.
The cost is $125 if you provide a draft and $250 if you need coaching to produce a draft.
PROPOSALS & REPORTS
Typically, we begin by discussing the project scope, messaging, tone, and other details.
I can conduct interviews and do research/data collection as needed. After you approve my outline, I write the first draft, and then work on up to two sets of revisions.
I also can polish your existing draft, and can consult with the graphic designer on the final draft if proofreading is needed before distribution.

cost
For projects other than personal statements, the cost varies by the time required based on my fee of $80 per hour. We agree on the total price before work begins.
